The Return of Squash in the Time of Covid

We are excited and cautious that King County has moved into Phase 2 and that means we can play squash wearing masks and with specific guidelines for the clubs that involve 30 minutes between court usage. See the state guidelines.

We are not starting leagues or any inter-club play yet, but will be working with each club to help reboot squash. When it is safe, we will be supporting competitions within clubs and then eventually reboot league play.

US Squash's COVID Response includes a phased approach to return to play. Here is a short summary:

  • Phase 1 - Solo Practice, Same Household

  • Phase 2 - Two Trusted Households

  • Phase 3 - Extend to Trusted Groups (Box Leagues, Ladders)

  • Phase 4 - Full Club Play (Club Leagues, Round Robins)

From our observations, most players are adhering to the guidelines for Phase 2 or Phase 3 extending their trusted groups. As we continue to decline in the number of COVID cases and increase the number of individuals vaccinated, we will all feel more safe to engage in Phase 3 and Phase 4 activities. Seattle Squash will be there to support the clubs and players on this journey.

We have reached out to each of the clubs to find out what is permitted. Here is what is allowed at each club:
