Reeham Sedky defeats World #4 Joelle King at Bellevue Invitational

Last night, the PMI Dave Cutler Bellevue Invitational kicked off with 4 incredible matches.

The highlight of the night though was local Reeham Sedky, ranked 68 in the world, who took the court against Joelle King (WR #4).  In the first, Reeham came out firing with her trademark power hitting.  It was very effective on the fast court.  If Reeham was nervous, it did not show.  She took the game 11-9.

In the second, Joelle was sharper and started to anticipate shots and reacted better to the pace.  She had Reeham on the run and came out on top 11-6.  In the 3rd, Joelle allowed Reeham to take control of the pace.  Reeham was very comfortable with the high pace and came away with the game 11-8.

In the fourth, it was again very close. The players were trading point for point.  Joelle was able to come out on top 11-9.

In the fifth, again very close, Reeham was still moving really well and Joelle was showing some signs of fatigue. It was a battle to the end, reaching 8-8 before Reeham was able to pull away and take the match.

Congratulations to Reeham on an incredible win. Undoubtedly the biggest win of her career so far.

Tonight she faces WR #5 Camille Serme.
